The holidays are over, the whisky shelves are empty, ready for new bottles, and it’s time to start rocking 2018. However, someone’s 2018 is about to get much better!

Firstly, our whole team here at dekanta would like to thank everyone who entered our “Festive Overdose” competition. We were taken aback by the number of entries, all wonderfully creative in their own way.

For those of you who missed it, our competition asked whisky lovers to post a photo of their Japanese whisky bottle, surrounded by as much festive cheer as possible. Decorations, snow, reindeer, people went above and beyond.

What does the winner receive? Well, a wonderful set of Japanese spirits, including a bottle of Hibiki Harmony, the wonderful Ki No Bi gin, a barley shochu from Nikka, and a bottle of sparkling sake. We had a very hard time choosing a winner and circled back numerous times to make sure the right decision was made.

Before we announce the winner, we’d like to give a shout out to a few of the entries we just loved.

To Mark PuraVida, we loved your post, especially gorgeous little Oliver in his festive gear. We hope you had an amazing Christmas and New Year, and we wish you all the best for 2018. Well done on your entry!
